Compulzion is a label set up by Louk and based in the South West of England. Compulzion aim to release rather dark trance and techno. Compulzion started life in September 2005 as a basis of promoting various record labels tracks to DJs, Press, Radio and potential licensees. This was followed in 2007 by the first Compulzion event which was an outdoor free party which took place in Devon. The decision to set up a record label came academically, as whilst studying for the final year of his degree, Louk decided for his final year project to set up a record label, which releases both on Vinyl, and digital (with all digital releases being sold three months after the Vinyl releases are on sale).

How Compulzion Works:

With the production of music becoming much more affordable than previously, there is a staggering amount of talent worldwide which is often overlooked by the bigger labels. Most labels prefer to sign aritsts to make albums and singles for them over the contract term. This creates an unnecessary tie with the artist. Compulzion sign releases on a track by track basis. You are free to take your next release elsewhere if you are not happy with what the label can do for you. Compulzion even provides a detailed breakdown of expenses and all sales in a statement to the artist so you know where money has been spent and accrued for your release. With the only criteria being that it has to fit the sound of the label and kick ass!
